Eirgrid are proposing to erect 400KV Extra High Voltage Powerlines on Overhead Pylons throughout Co Kilkenny and one of the proposed routes is through Clara parish. The “Care for Clara” group are holding a Public Awareness & Action Meeting in Clara Hall on Thursday 24th October at 8.30pm, all welcome. The dream is still alive ! Clara senior hurlers have reached the senior county final beating near rivals St. Martins on a scoreline of 1-17 to 1-14, they are just one match away from reaching the holy grail of Kilkenny Senior Club hurling. They will play Carrickshock in the final on Sunday 27th October. It has been a phenominal year for this bunch of hurlers, having won the Intermediate County Final this time last year and going on to capture the Intermediate All Ireland final. This team don’t know the meaning of the word loose! Winning the Intermediate League & Championship in 2012, they have already won the league at Senior level 2013 and are just one match away from winning the Senior County Final 2013. Let’s get behind this super team and get them over the line to win this years Senior County Final. Best of luck lads.


Our minor hurlers were beaten at the weekend in the county semi final by Danesfort on a scoreline of 2-6 to 1 14. Hardluck lads.

Training takes place for underage teams (U6 to U12) for both Hurling and Camogie on Monday evenings from 7 to 8.15. New players are always welcome at any age level.


Training has changed to Thursday nights from 8 to 9.30. New members are always welcome from both inside and outside of Clara Parish.


DVD’s are on sale for the Intermediate finals played in 2012/2013. The DVD’s will be sold as a set.
