Entry is now open for the 2011 Kilkenny Rose, giving young women from all over the county the chance to be the Kilkenny Rose and maybe even the Rose of Tralee.
Local businesses, sports organizations, professional groupings and you yourself are invited to take part in what promises to be a memorable selection event, taking place in the Ormonde Hotel, Kilkenny on Saturday 7th May.
The 2010 Kilkenny Rose, Chloe Hitchcock, said: “To have been chosen as the Kilkenny Rose was the most exciting thing imaginable and from the moment I was selected I threw myself 100% into the role. Putting together the wardrobe was great fun and I got a lot of help from many local businesses. I was invited to many events, most of them fundraisers for very worthwhile projects.”
Along with the potential of becoming the 2011 Kilkenny Rose and representing your county and local community you could win prizes including Newbridge Silverware jewellery and Carlton Hotel Gift Cards.
Should you go forward and become the 2011 Rose of Tralee, you would win a €25,000 world prize, car for a year, a complete collection of Newbridge Silverware home ware and jewellery products, plus more.
Kate Markey, Kilkenny Rose Centre said: “Entering the Kilkenny Rose of Tralee is a wonderful experience, a chance to make new life long friends and make the most wonderful memories. But the most import thing to remember is once a Rose, always a Rose.“
The Kilkenny Rose of Tralee are also looking for Escorts, to accompany a Rose on the Kilkenny Selection Night and one lucky Escort will be selected to go forward to the Escort boot camp and could be selected as an International Escort at the International Festival in Tralee, this August.
