THE victims of a crash on Friday evening were described as ‘wonderful men’ who were ‘innocent, loving characters’ at the funeral of Martin Duggan on Tuesday afternoon.

Fr Peter Kehoe said the friends - Martin Duggan and Sean Malone - were ‘a great credit’ to their parents Mattie and Margaret and Pat and Noreen.

“The Duggan family would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone who since the tragic accident have been a great tower of strength to both families. Mattie commented to me about the generosity and the great neighbourly spirit he has experienced. Special thanks to the Women’s Guild, the people of Knockmoylan, the gardai, the fire brigade and the emergency services who were at the scene and the doctors, nurses and staff at Waterford Regional Hospital who fought so bravely to keep Martin alive but unfortunately it wasn’t to be for us. The parish has gone through a horrible time and hopefully we will never have to go through anything like this again,” said Fr Kehoe.
