EucharistIC Congress-An information evening for all planning to attend the Eucharist Congress and for the closing Mass in Croke Park will be held on Thursday May17th in St Fiachre@s parish centre, Loughboy at 7.30pm. It is hoped that the tickets for Croke Park will be available for distribution at this meeting, therefore it is important for parishes to be present to collect the tickets.

First Holy Communion-Ten children received their First Holy Communion in St Kierans Church on May12th. Due to a family berevement Fr Maher was unable to be present but was ably represented by Canon Dunphy, Urlingford. The children who were all beautifully dressed were.. Kevina Cullen, Kealan Dermody, Kady Downey, Sarah McCarthy, Niamh McCormack, Roisin Mackey, Evan Maher, Alexis Purcell, Daniel Whelan and John Doheny. They were thoroughly prepared by their teacher Miss Corcoran. All the school children from 1st class took part in the singing which was beautiful. Music was by Noirin Ryan, Eddie Cullinane and Breda Campion.
U14 Team played the Emeralds in Urlingford on Wed May 9th on a cold evening. The stronger fielded Emeralds team won the match. This team is trained by Sarah Dermody and Alannah Purcell. St Anne’s girls played with great determination but luck was not on their side.
The National School matches have begun, they have played Lisdowney, Windgap and had a great win over Dunnamaggin..St Anne’s 5-0, Dunnamaggin 2-1. The girls played with great enthusiasm and gave a great team performance. This team is trained by Geraldine Behan and Ann Ryan. Well done to everyone involved in the 3 schools and many thanks to the parents , their help with the girls is appreciated. The U12 blitz took place in Clough on April 28th. St Anne’s played Castlecomer and Paulstown, the girls had a great day and won both games.
