GUIDE TO INISTIOGE - A booklet of Inistioge, which includes an informative walking tour of buildings and items of historic interest has been compiled and published by Inistioge Tidy Towns. The booklet is available free in all local business premises. Well done to Carmel Cummins and Deirdre Doyle for their comprehensive research on the history of Inistioge and the compilation of the brochure.
IRELAND’S INTERNATIONAL PLEIN AIR PAINTING FESTIVAL-T His will take place in Inistioge village on Monday the 30th July, and includes half day workshops with artists, and ‘paint outs’. This is an open event and all are welcome. More information is available on http://www.artintheopen.org/
GYM AT COIS ABHAINN -The Gym at Cois Abhainn opened in January 2012 and has gone from strength to strength. There is a range of equipment at the moment including treadmills, exercise bike, rowers, leg extension, step and cross trainer. The equipment will be added to in the coming months until there is a full range. All membership fees will be used for this purpose. Membership is €4 per session or €25 per calendar month. To become a member one must attend an induction session where you will be instructed in the correct use of the equipment. Call or text your name to Brian on 087-7953558 and he will let you know when the next induction session is on. Opening times-over thirty hours are as follows. Days-Monday to Wednesday 9am to 3pm. Friday 9am to 1pm. Evenings-Monday to Thursday 7pm to 9.30pm. Friday 7pm to 9pm. And remember, once you are a member there is no booking required, just pop along anytime during opening hours.
