Fashion Show - Our Lady’s Meadow Primary School Parents Association are holding a Fashion Show in the Castle Arms Hotel Durrow on Friday March 1 at 8 pm. The models on the night will all come form the locality and this will add considerable interest to the show. All proceeds from this event will go to help finance the new extension needed in the school. Please support this event as it will help give our children better facilities and our teachers more space to teach our children.
Lotto - The parish lotto with a jackpot of 5,650 euro was not won, small winners were 30 euro Ms. Tobin 25 euro John Bourke and 20 euro Jack Bowe . The lotto of February 25 will be held in the Bob’s Bar with a possible jackpot of 5,950 euro. Tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot.
Senior Citizens - The Senior Citizens party will be held in the Castle Arms Hotel on Marc 2 at 2 pm. Invitations are being distributed by the community council. Anyone who wishes to attend or wants to nominate someone to attend are asked to contact any member of the community council .
Enrolment - Enrolment forms are available from Our Lady’s Meadow Primary School for children starting school in September 2013. Forms should be returned before February 28. If you need a form please call to the school office during school hours. You and you child will be invited to visit the school on Wednesday June 2 and you will receive a reminder nearer that date. If you are not enrolling your child in the school please let the secretary know as soon as possible.
Draw - Tickets are on sale for the Laois County Board members draw that is the major fundraiser for the Harps. Tickets can be got from any member of the club and by buying a ticket you are helping the club get much wanted finances. Tickets cost 130 euro or 32.50 euro per month for four months. Prizes each month for the four monthly draws are 1st 10,000 euro, 2nd 5,000 euro 3rd /4th and 5th are 1,500 euro each, 6th 1,000 euro and ten prizes of 500 euro. Please support your local club and give yourself a chance of winning big money.
Rejuvenation of the Town Square - Durrow Development Forum are delighted to announce that planning permission has been granted for work to commence on the rejuvenation of the town square. This project has been in the pipeline for years and it is great despite the poor economic climate that this project costing over 750,000 euro gets the go-ahead. It’s a major boost to the town. Thanks to Laois Partnership, Laois County Council and the many County Councilors who gave this project such support. It is hoped that work would commence before the end of the year and will take a few months to complete . Durrow Development Forum will be running a few fund raising events to help provide the community share of the costs. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Auction - All items that are for Auction or in the Raffle are on display in the Corner Shop of Alley’s Window in the square. There are many items that will interest everyone and there are great raffle prizes. Anyone wishing to put in a bid for any item prior to the auction can contact Martin Lawlor at 087 2185839 or Declan Phelan at 087 9893044. All items in the auction must be paid for in full on the night. A special thank you to the Alley Family for the use of their windows to display our items for auction and in the raffle . A thousand thanks to everyone who donated items for this event. All proceeds from this night in Dec’s Bar on March 2,2013 will be donated to a local Adolescent Treatment Centre.
Stations - Stations of the Cross will be held every Sunday during Lent in the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Durrow at 6 pm . All are welcome.
