The annual party for the citizens of the parish will take place on Dec 10th at 2pm in the Castle Arms Hotel in Durrow. Names of those interested in going, together with a donation of €10, to Carmel Walsh Kenny 0874126958 or 8833336. Or, you can drop into the Credit Union. This event was once known as the Day Centre party but as times change the Day Centre no longer exists. The party now is for anyone who wants to go, regardless of age, particularly if you’ve had a tough year, so don’t be afraid to put your name down. A bus will pick up from The Square so transport won’t be a problem. We will be joined in Durrow by our neighbours from Lisdowney and Conahy. A beautiful Christmas meal following by dancing, music and song is the order of the day. Throughout many spot prizes are distributed with a free draw for hampers and numerous other festive prizes. There are a number of people in the parish who, for whatever reason, are unable to go to the party. With this in mind a special free draw will be held for our absent friends. The funding for the day comes mainly from sponsorship and fundraising such as bag packing and Church gate collections. The proceeds of the Craft Fair in Ballyragget which was kindly donated to this cause was a huge boost this year and is much appreciated. Additionally many of the spot prizes currently being prepared for the party are the work of these Crafters.

We are taking names now so be sure to be on the list!
