GOLF - The Annual Dan Bolger Inter Society Golf Challenge was played in Gowran on Saturday last. Bennettsbridge Golf Society emerged winners with Goresbridge coming in second place. The Bennettsbridge team was, Kate Hennessy, Laurence Walsh, P.J.Dreeling, Matt Byrne, Jnr, Paddy Molloy, Declan Davis, Jack Lennon, Murt Donnelly, Dan Stallard, Jimmy Dunne, Matty Byrne, Snr, Ger Treacy. Manager, Kerri Bolger. The presentation and meal took place in Gowran. Well done to Goresbridge in this, their first outing. Other societies taking part were, Stoneyford, Graignamanagh, Thomastown and Ballyhale.
GAA NEWS - The draw for the tickets for the All-Ireland Final will take place in the club house this Friday night at 8pm.
SYMPATHY - Sympathy goes to Jim and Rosaleen Hynes on the death of their grandson, Jonathan recently. Sympathy is also extended to the family of Walter Walsh, Stoneen whose death occurred unexpectedly
COLLECTION - Next weekend there will be a Church gate collection in aid of the St Vincent De Paul Society and your support would be appreciated.
TIDY TOWNS - The Tidy Towns was re-formed last Autumn and in that short time a great amount of work has been done. Planting has been carried out in strategic areas and weeding and general cleaning up has taken place. Regular grass cutting has been undertaken resulting in a good improvement to the appearance of the approach roads. With marking in the Tidy Towns due soon it is hoped that the efforts of the committee will be rewarded. As a thank you to all the workers a special end of summer night was held in O’Donnell’s Pub recently and a great night was had by all with music and refreshments

ART COURSE - Names are now being taken for the proposed Drawing Class which will be given by tutor, Julie Moorhouse in the Community Centre, Bennettsbridge, commencing in the next few weeks. It is expected that classes will take place each Saturday from 12 to 3pm and as already announced it will be funded by Kilkenny VEC with an allocation for some materials.
