UNDER 21 HURLING - Big win this week for the parish when the under 21 team beat Dicksboro in the Rionn A Championship on Saturday in Freshford on a score of 1:9 to 11 points in a match that went right to the wire and was only decided on the last puck of the ball. For a full match report check out

LISDOWNEY HURLING CLUB - AGM will be held on Friday 7th December in Lisdowney Community Centre. Everyone is encouraged to attend the meeting, remember the AGM is your opportunity to have your say. If you do not go along and vote on the night then you are missing your opportunity to have a say in the club. Please return all nomination forms and proposals asap to the club secreatary.

LISDOWNEY LOTTO - The numbers drawn in the Lisdowney GAA and Camogie Club Weekly Lotto on Monday, 22nd October 2012, were 11, 16, 22, 25. There was no winner. Match three winner was Antoinette Hickey. Next week’s jackpot will be €2,500. The draw will be held in Downey’s Bar, Lisdowney, on Monday, 26th November 2012.

SCOR NA nOG - Lisdowney GAA club will compete in the Kilkenny Scor na nOg group on Wednesday 28th November in Langtons. They will compete in Solo Singing, Instrumental and Question Time. If any others would like to compete in ceili, figure or set dancing, recitation, story telling, balled group or the novelty act, please contact club PRO on 086 1985251, entries must be in by 22nd November.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY - The Lisdowney parish children’s Santa Party will be held on Sunday 9th December in Lisdowney Community Centre. This is still the least expensive way for your children to visit Santa over the Christmas period, at only €5.00 per child including a full party with their own friends. Please help us make this year’s party very special for all the children by turning up in our numbers. There will be a meeting on Thursday 29th November in the Resource Centre at 7.30pm to plan the event, new help is urgently needed.

UNDER 10 SOCCER - Need to get the kids to burn up some energy over the winter, send them down to Gary in Woodview, Freshford at 12.00 every Saturday.

JOIN THE GYM - If you haven’t joined yet you are missing out. Call Stephen on 086-2770217 to join the Lisdowney gym and keep yourself fit and healthy over the winter. Prices are very reasonable.

MASS FOR THE SICK - Mass for the Sick takes place every Friday in Lisdowney at 7.30pm.

YEAR OF FAITH - The parish programme, in conjunction with neighbouring parishes has started in Castlecomer Community Hall on all Wednesdays in November, 21st, 28th and 5th December from 7.30pm to 9.00pm. Meetings are conducted by Fr Joe Delaney and are designed to help people understand and appreciate our Faith.

BADMINTON - continues every Monday night in Lisdowney Community Centre at 8 pm. All welcome - newcomers and more men needed. Contact Eimear on 087 9684866.

CANCER EXERCISE CLASS - A Cancer Exercise Class has commenced in Clontubrid. This class is specifically designed for people who have suffered any type of cancer and are recovering or recovered.
