BUILDING OF HOPE CD LAUNCH - Henry Shefflin, along with Liam McCarthy, extends an invitation to you to the Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny on Thursday 22nd November at 8 pm for the launch of “The Spirit of Christmas” CD in association with the Building of Hope Project. The CD was recorded by the children who attend the Likoni School for the Blind in Mombasa, Kenya. 183 volunteers from all over Ireland travelled to Mombasa in January and February 2012 and built a home for these blind children. Outside of Co. Clare, the largest number of volunteers came from the Kilkenny-Carlow area.

BALLYRAGGET SQUASH CLUB - Ballyragget Squash club welcomes new and old members and membership can now be paid - Adult membership is €40 and juvenile membership is €20. TEAM NEWS - It’s a matter of pride! The St. Patrick’s hurlers suffered defeat in the Intermediate County Final against Clara on a score line of Clara 1 -7 to St. Patrick’s 0-4. Over the past two years these players have given everything to the parish in winning the junior county title, the junior all Ireland and contesting an intermediate county final on there first year at the grade. A huge thank you must be said to each of the players and to the team management of Maurice Alyward, Matt Ruth, Tom Phelan and Mark Swan enjoy your break. Everyone is proud of you all. Also a thank you to all the supporters. Those team members who are part of the under 21 team are in action this Saturday against James Stephens - Good Luck to the team and there management Ann Downey Dessie Staunton and Paudie Mulhall.

BALLYRAGGET I.C.A. - The ladies of Ballyragget I.C.A. would like to thank all who so generously supported their recent flower arrangement night in aid of Suicide or Survive. This is this year’s charity which the I.C.A. have pledged to support. Sincere thanks to all who attended, supplied spot-prizes and to the fantastic demonstrator Ms. Bergin who made the night so enjoyable and helped raise €943-00 for this worthy cause- a great night was had by all who attended. HAVE YOU TIME TO SPARE - S.O.S. is a Voluntary Organisation in Kilkenny for adults with a mild-moderate intellectual disability, providing day services, respite and residential care. We are looking for families or individuals (hosts) to provide short breaks (day/overnight/weekend) in their home for adults from our services. Each host is matched with one person from S.O.S. and an expense allowance is paid for each break provided. We are also looking for volunteers to support us in providing extra social and recreational activities for people attending S.O.S. in the evening time or weekends. BALLYOUSKILL SALE OF WORK - At a meeting during the week it was decided to hold a Sale of Work in Ballyouskill Hall on Sunday November 25th 2012. Active support from the entire community is required to make this venture a success. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated – if you can supply or cut timber, acquire prizes or any other help please come forward with your ideas – everyone’s help is needed.
