Community Alert Meeting - On April 16th a meeting of the Parish Community Alert Group will be held in Piltown Community Centre at 8:30 pm.
The Owning Area Community Alert have now established a text alert scheme with 87 members & are renewing signage & links with local Gardai following a well attended meeting last month.
Fianna Fail Cumann AGM - The AGM of Piltown Fianna Fail Cumann will be held on April 15th at 8:30 pm in the Community Centre in Piltown. A discussion on local issues for attention & recent reorganisation is on the agenda. All past & new members welcome.
Piltown Children’s Basketball Club - Basketball training takes place every Friday evening in the Community Centre for Under 10’s, Under 12 Girls and Under 14 Boys. Under 10 training for both boys & girls takes place from 6-7pm. Under 12 Girls training takes place from 7-8pm & Under 14 Boys training takes place from 8-9pm. €2 per week. Everyone welcome.
Electrical Waste Collection - WEEE Ireland will be holding a public collection of electrical waste items & batteries on Sat 13th April at Piltown Community Centre from 10am to 4pm. Any household item with a plug or battery will be accepted – from large items such as fridges, dishwashers and tumble-dryers, to small household items such as remote controls, electric toothbrushes & everything in between. All waste batteries will be accepted free of charge, including AA and AAA batteries, torch batteries, watch batteries, car batteries & electric fence batteries.
Family Fun Quiz night - A family fun quiz in aid of Piltown School is being held in Piltown Community Centre at 7.30pm on Friday, April 12th. Entry is €20 per table & max 6 people per table. Teams will have a mix of adults & children & promises to be a great night. Your support would be greatly appreciated. All monies raised for Piltown NS.

START YOUR OWN BUSINESS GRAND FINALE - The Winners in Piltown Community Enterprise’s Start Your Own Business Competition will be announced at a Gala Evening in the G.A.A. Complex on Thursday April 11th at 8.00 p.m.
The winner will be announced by Guest Speaker Bobby Kerr of “Dragon’s Den Fame”.
This is the culmination of a lengthy process. The closing date for applications was on 31st January, and since then the entrants were being scrutinised by an independent panel of expert judges. Now that they have completed their deliberations, we are looking forward to the announcement of the winners on 11th April. The organisers wish to express their appreciation to all of the applicants, main Sponsors Piltown G.A.A & Iverk Produce, as well as all the other sponsors & everyone who helped in the process.
Kilkenny Community & Voluntary Forum - The South East Regional Drugs task Force (SERDTF),Kilkenny Community & Voluntary Forum & Kilkenny Leader Partnership are jointly organising a community consulation Seminar on the subject of substance misuse. The seminar will be on the morning of Friday 19th April 2013. The venue will be the Pembroke Hotel, 11 Patrick Street, Kilkenny from 9:30am to 1:30pm. A light lunch will be served. Camogie Training Resumes - Camogie Training for all ages, will return this week in Piltown GAA Complex. Training nights are Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
