KELLS HANDBALL CLUB - Adult County 40 x 20 Championships: In the Intermediate Singles CJ Delaney (Kells) defeated John O’Neill (Goresbridge) and Diarmuid Burke (Kells) defeated Kirk Green (O’Loughlin’s); in the Masters B Singles Pat Funchion (Kells) was defeated by Tom O Keeffe (Kilfane); in the Junior Singles Dan Breen (Kells) lost to James Bourke (O’Loughlin’s) and Stephen O’Dwyer (Kells) lost to James Hennessy (O’Loughlin’s); in the Minor Singles Brendan Hyland (Kells) lost to JJ English (Goresbridge); in the Junior B Doubles Dan Breen/John Fitzgerald (Kells) were defeated by Shane Walsh/Cian Ryan (Windgap); in the Masters B Singles Paddy Fennelly (Kells) was defeated by John Duggan (O’Loughlin’s); in the Senior Doubles Diarmuid Burke/Brendan Burke (Kells) were defeated by William Love/Daniel Love (Clogh); in the Masters C Doubles Tom Condon/Jimmy Murphy (Kells) were beaten by Michael Dalton /Jimmy Shanahan (Kilfane); in the Senior B Singles Brendan Burke (Kells) defeated Ger McGrath (Kells); in the Senior Doubles Patrick Funchion and Peter Funchion (Kells) got a walkover from Timmy/Michael Clifford (St. Canice’s); in the Masters B Doubles Paddy Fennelly/Pat Funchion (Kells) defeated Seamus Reade/Paddy Reilly (Talbot’s Inch).
In the Leinster Finals of the 40 x 20 Juvenile Team of 6 Kilkenny’s U-12/13 Team with Kells representatives Eoin Brennan, Dylan Crehan and Mickey Prendergast lost out to Wexford on a narrow margin of 84 - 79 aces. The U-14/15 Kilkenny Team of 6 with Kells representatives Roy Cullen and Conor Condon lost out to Kildare 71 - 56 aces.
In the 40 x 20 County Juvenile U-14 B Singles, Kells Handball Club was represented by David Bourke, Rory Lodge, Nick O’Shea and Cillian Lafford. Cillian beat off stiff competition and defeated Rory Lodge in the final. In the U-15 B Singles Brian Farrell Kells had a great game but unfortunately did not make the final.
SEMINAR ON SUBSTANCE MISUSE - The South East Regional Drugs task Force (SERDTF), Kilkenny Community & Voluntary Forum and Kilkenny Leader Partnership are jointly organising a Community Consultation Seminar on the subject of substance misuse. The seminar will be on the morning of Friday, April 19. The venue will be the Pembrooke Hotel, 11 Patrick Street, Kilkenny from 9.30am to 1.30pm. Places can be booked at 051 841144.
WINDGAP CAMOGIE CLUB - The club is now offering social membership for an annual rate of €10. Social membership will entitle members to be given regular updates on all activities associated with the Club including fixtures and other club activities.
KILMOGANNY FF CUMANN - Kilmoganny Fianna Fail Cumann held its AGM in St Eoghan’s Centre recently where the large attendance heard from Deputy John McGuinness and Cllr Matt Doran. Chairperson Ned Kirwan urged new members to join and have the opportunity to help shape the party policy and thus influence developments nationally.

CLEAN UP - A clean up of Kilmoganny village will take place this Saturday from 10.30am – 1pm. Volunteers are invited to assemble in the Church car-park and to bring along suitable implements to assist in the clean-up of the village and its environs.
