GAA NEWS - Clara Juniors played Saturday night in the last round of the All County league and came away from the game with a great win, beating Kilmacow 2-9 to 1-9. From the start Kilmacow looked the stronger going into a 1-3 to no score lead but with Killian Phelan getting the first score for Clara the tables started to turn. Brian Prendergast followed Killians point with 2 pointed frees. Kilmacow got 2 more points before Ben Nolan struck for a goal and Conor Phelan continued the scoring with a point. Kilmacow got another point before the half time whistle sounded leaving the score Clara 1-4 Kilmacow 1-6.
Conor Phelan opened the scoring for Clara in the second half with a point before kilmacow pointed a free of their own. Kilmacow extended their lead with another point before Micheal McDonald powered home to score another goal for Clara. Ben Nolan added another point before Kilmacow got their last score. Clara pushed on and got 2 more points David Carroll and Jason Byrne scoring a point each. Throughout the game Clara defence played really well holding Kilmacow to only 3 point in the second half. WORKS TO CLARA GAA CLUB - Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified main contractors who wish to be included on the approved list of tenderers for the Phase 01 works to Clara GAA Club. PILTOWN TICKETS - Tickets for the 2013 Hurlers Co-Op Draw are on sale now. Committee members will be around selling tickets over the next few weeks. If you wish to buy one you can contact any committee member, numbers are available on clara.kilkenny.gaa.ie.
UNDERAGE TRAINING - Training is back for underage teams (U12 to U6) for both Hurling and Camogie on Monday evenings from 7 to 8.15. New players are always welcome at any age level.
G4M+O Training is back up and running on Friday nights from 8 to 9.30. New members are always welcome from both inside and outside of Clara Parish.
GAELIC FOR GIRLS - Is on every Thursday from 7 to 8 in Clara GAA Grounds. This is for 8 to 13 year olds.
