Plans to erect a large telecoms mast on the grounds of a local GAA club have divided the community.

Back in April, Vantage Towers sought permission from Kilkenny County Council to erect a 30m lattice telecommunications
support structure at Clara GAA Club, Rathgarvan, Clara, Co. Kilkenny.

There were seven submissions made to the local authority from residents in relation to the planned mast.

Planning permission was granted by the local authority in May, subject to a number of conditions.

Signs in opposition have since been drawn up and placed outside the entrance to the GAA club.
