NB- Piltown GAA Club woke on Sunday morning to the heartbreaking news of the overnight passing of past Chairperson and President, Ned Walsh. Ned was one of Piltown GAA Club and Kilkenny GAA’s greatest followers and supporters. He dedicated so much of his life to the club, the community, and the Iverk Show. At the wishes of the Walsh family, the Junior Hurling Championship match Piltown v Slieverue went ahead on Sunday afternoon. Before the ball was thrown in, both Piltown and Slieverue paid a very respectful tribute to Ned with a minute’s silence, followed by a round of applause. Ned's grandson, Sam, togged out with his Piltown teammates, and stood a proud man. Ned would have wanted nothing else, well done Sam.
