Three Kilkenny riders placed top of the leader board at Balmoral's Longines Ranking Grand Prix

with Kilkenny's Seamus Hughes Kennedy winning the top prize in the international arena

Seamus Hughes Kennedy from Danesfort came 1st on Esi Ali

Out of 36 participants, three Kilkenny riders placed in the top six in the Longines Ranking Grand Prix at the 154th Balmoral Show.

20-year-old  Seamus Hughes Kennedy from Danesfort won the 1.45m Horse Sport Ireland & Bottlegreen Grand Prix at Balmoral, riding Esi Ali. The eight-year-old gelding Esi Ali is owned by his mother Clare Hughes. 

Susan Fitzpatrick from Keatingstown House Stud is no stranger to success in the international arena. She came third, riding Miss Paris, owned by Manny O'Hara. 

Up and coming young rider, 15-year-old James Brennan from Gowran finished sixth, with a home-bred mare MHS Im The One.

The Balmoral International show was held in Lisburn, Belfast on Friday, May 12 last.
