Land in South Kilkenny sold at a record price at an auction last week.
Kilkenny auctioneer Pat Gannon conducted the sale of 106-acre residential farm at Earlsrath, Mullinavat, Kilkenny on Friday in Carroll’s Hotel, Knocktopher.
In front of a large audience, the land was offered in its entirety and in lots, and after a marathon the hammer fell at a record price of €2,520,000 or €23,777 per acre.
The purchasers were two brothers who farm locally.
