Charlie, his wife Claire, and Tiger their dog, were warmly welcomed to the Kilkenny/Carlow branch of Samaritans recently, where he spoke to volunteers thanking them for their ‘incredible job to connect with people who are in dark places’.
“I want to raise awareness for the great work you do,” he told them through his app.
“We never know when we might need to chat to a Samaritans volunteer.”
The hand of friendship was warmly shaken by all present and branch director Donall Ryan thanked Charlie and Claire for supporting them with this remarkable gesture.
Charlie has previously spoke of his ambition to raise awareness of the work of Samaritans, who are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on freephone 116 123.
