There was a great turnout for a fundraising community event in Kilmoganny over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The festival began on Saturday with the official opening of the new pitch and track. The main event was a 24-hour walkathon around the newly lit tarmacadam walking track in memory of two young women and members of the local hurling club who died last year. The event was dubbed Light Up Your Memories.

There was also be a series of events on the pitch, with games, music, food, races, and a giant sports day and community get-together, live music, and a sports day starts up at the GAA pitch.

A sketch called Oh Doctor! then took place at 7.30pm, followed by a band, Folk That, to round up the night and cap off a great weekend.
