Tipp could be in Heartbreak Hotel on Sunday night if an audacious group of Kilkenny musicians have their way.
Elvis Kilkenny and the Shefflins, have written an All Ireland Hurling Final song for the Cats.
They’re hoping Tipp will be “All Shook Up’ after hearing it and that they will have ‘Suspicious Minds’ on Sunday evening.
The Elvis by the Nore, hopes the Kilkenny hurlers will have no ‘Wooden Hearts’ to get the Premier boys to “Surrender” and when the final whistle blows Elvis Kilkenny hopes the Tipp boys will be singing ‘There Goes My Everything’ and will be ‘Crying In The Chapel’ later that night. And if they win who knows it could be a case of “Viva las Vegas” for the team holiday.
The troupe have taken the classic Galway Girl tune and turned it into “Watch Kilkenny Hurl”. “Henry deserves every honour he gets and we felt that naming our band after him was a nice ting to do,” Elvis said.
The sideburned crooner, who has strong Tullahought and Windgap connections will bring the Shefflins all over Kilkenny next Friday for a series of surprise performances. “We will be in supermarkets, pubs, clubs, parish halls and GAA clubs, covering 30 venues in ten hours.” ‘Watch Kilkenny Hurl’ by Elvis Mooncoin and the Shefflins will be released today (Wednesday).
