A total of 34 members of the 127th recruit platoon took part in a colourful Passing Out parade in Kilkenny city this afternoon Sean Keane reports.
The group completed a 17 week intensive training course at James Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny and in a wonderful pageant, they marched their way to becoming full time members of the Defence Forces during the event held in the Watershed Leisure Centre and not the barracks because of concerns over the weather.. And their was joy for Kilkenny city resident, Craig Doyle who won the marksmanship award for his accuracy with his personal firearm, marksmanship and handling of other weapons.
