This is the moment that former Kilkenny legend DJ Carey arrived in court this morning to learn his fate - a sentencing in the fraud case against him.
The sentencing was to have taken place on Wednesday, but the court heard Mr Carey was in hospital and unable to attend. The former Kilkenny star has pleaded guilty to 10 counts of fraud, including falsely claiming to have cancer to obtain money from people, at a court sitting last July, on the day his trial was due to begin.
About 28 witnesses had been expected to give evidence for the prosecution at trial, which was originally set down for four weeks. Stay tuned to KilkennyLive for the latest from the court today.
