Sinn Fein candidate for the Callan-Thomastown Local Electoral Area (LEA), David Kennedy has admitted this may be the end of the road for his political career after being eliminated in the first count.

Mr Kennedy was elected to Kilkenny County Council in 2014 but lost his seat in 2019 and told Kilkenny Live he may not compete for a seat again in the next local election.

"Would I do it again? I don't know, it might be time to let the younger people have a go at it and see what's there."
