WATCH: Deirdre Cullen reacts to being re-elected in the Callan Thomastown area of Kilkenny

Deirdre Cullen (Fianna Fáil) is celebrating after her re-election in the Local Electoral Area of Callan-Thomastown.

She was elected late last night/early Sunday morning after the third count alongside Michael Doyle (Fine Gael).

From Bennettsbridge, Cllr Cullen is a teacher and a mother of two and is heavily involved with Bennettsbridge Camogie and GAA Clubs.

She spoke earlier with Kilkenny Live reporter Christopher Dunne about her reaction to the result, the issues she encountered on doorsteps, and the importance of electing women in local politics.
