The excitement is palpable as the 2025 International Rose of Tralee Festival fast approaches, with just a couple of sleeps to go until the official opening ceremony on Friday.
Journalist Aisling Magner spoke to the Sydney Rose Laura Foley who is half a Kilkenny woman with her dad being from Graiguenamanagh. As there is no Kilkenny rose in the competition this year she will be the only rose flying the black and amber.
Laura is a 26 year old research assistant from Sydeny whois honoured and excited to represent her Irish roots, celebrate the vibrant Sydney-Irish community, and inspire young women to lead boldly and pursue ambitious futures.
The Rose of Tralee international festival is a celebration of Irish heritage, friendship, and pride that continues to capture hearts around the island of Ireland and the world.
The Rose of Tralee will be available to watch for free, live and on-demand by audiences in Ireland and around the world on RTÉ Player. Features, archive footage, behind-the-scenes content and more will also be available across RTÉ.ie and RTÉ social media platforms over the coming days.
