Kilkenny’s senior hurlers will be given a civic reception next Monday as they return home from their All-Ireland final with Galway.

The county council is to host the reception at Nowlan Park as part of the homecoming. Regardless of the result, there is sure to be a sizeable crowd coming out to welcome home their sporting heroes.

Things will kick off at 4pm, with a replay of the game relayed on the big screen. There will be live entertainment afterwards, while the team will then arrive on stage around 6.15pm.

Proceedings will be brought to a close at 7.15 pm. The MC for the evening will be Helen Carroll of Rte’s Ear to the Ground, who originally hails from the Granges Road.

Parking will be free in all County Council-operated carparks from 4pm.

The homecoming event will be postponed in the event of a draw.
