The annual National Day of Commemoration ceremony, to honour all those Irishmen and Irishwomen who died in past wars or on service with the United Nations, took place at Kilkenny Castle on Sunday morning.
A large crowd including members of the Defence Forces, local TDs, and the public attended proceedings. During the ceremony, the Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council Eamon Aylward laid a wreath on behalf of the people of Kilkenny.
