12 years ago the Savour food festival began with a food market on the cobbles of Kieran Street and this year it was the centre of attention again for one of the first events of an amazing weekend in the city.
A Taste of Kieran Street combined the area's top food and fashion houses for a unique treat for spectators.
The cobblestone street was transformed on Friday, turning an ordinary autumn afternoon into a style-filled event.
A red-carpet catwalk appeared in the centre of the street and it became the stylish runway for the show.
Boutiques on Kieran Street showcased their stunning collections and the local restaurants brought their businesses out onto the street for spectators to savour tasty culinary delights and drinks during and after the fashion show.
Delighted spectators braved the autumn breeze and were treated to a showcase of fashion from the street's boutiques such as Lady Lorna Emporium, Serendipity, 38co Boutique, Mimi, Peaches, Belle Femme, Tiffany, Sally West, Sue Ryder, Samaritans, Marchioness, Butterslip and menswear from Dunnes Stores.
Despite a threat of rain, crowds gathered on Kieran Street for the event and thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle.
There was a festive atmosphere with warm drinks, sweet snacks and even a spooky smoking pumpkin keeping a watching eye on the models!
The festival atmosphere continued into the evening with music from Drops of Green (whose band members had earlier been dressed up by Dunnes Stores and modelled in the show!).
A fabulous start to a festival weekend and an event that is sure to become a fixture on the festival calendar!
