Tom Moran is a Big Fat Filthy Disgusting Liar*

What’s the worst lie you’ve told? How bad was it? And how far would you go to keep it a secret?

Tom Moran is a charismatic people-pleaser, an expert in empathy, but someone who struggles with the truth.

His latest production, Tom Moran is a Big Fat Filthy Disgusting Liar, premiered at the esteemed Dublin Fringe Festival, where it garnered significant praise and went on to secure the prestigious Best New Writing Award from Fishamble, an Olivier Award Winning theatre company.

The success of Tom's play didn't stop there. Deadpan Pictures, a prominent production company, recognized its potential and optioned it for development in the TV comedy-drama genre. Currently, Tom is actively involved in shaping the show for television audiences.

Tom's exceptional talent and captivating performances have garnered critical acclaim. The Arts Review's end-of-year recap highlighted Tom alongside esteemed actors such as Gabriel Byrne, Robert Sheehan, Brendan Coyle, Andrew Bennet, and Stanley Townsend for delivering one of the most outstanding performances of 2022.

Join him at the Set Theatre in Kilkenny on July 16 in this hilariously honest true story as he seeks to exorcise ghosts, confess his deepest secrets and somehow un-f*ck his future.

Tom begs the question, if I never lied again and was just myself, would any of my loved ones still love me?

The show deals with Tom's real life experience of telling one lie that changed his life. In an attempt to avoid school with a fake tummy ache, Tom ended up losing his appendix and permanently altering his relationship with his body. The piece explores the consequences of lying from a comedic and personal perspective.

Suitable for audiences age 14+, this show contains strong language and discussion of disordered eating and mental health issues.
