Summer in Kilkenny is a hive of creative activities, but there are a few surprising and unexpected gems that you won’t want to miss.
Taken for a Ride, will be one of them. Part of the Kilkenny Arts Festival, and a collaboration between Radical Acts & The Banshees, this unique event will have you riding around on the bus and hearing extraordinary and wonderfully strange tales of fellow passengers.
Radical Acts, run by Ita Morrissey creates fun, creative and unexpected collaborations based on personal experience, making the mundane magical. And The Banshees are a group of published writers who have been together since 2015. Together they have been working to create new theatrical work which they are excited to share with the community.
‘This is something special and unusual, writing for theatre is so different than writing a novel, it has been such a fun experience.’ Helena Duggan, who has written three best-selling children’s books with her fourth. ‘The Light Thieves – The search for the Black Mirror’ out on August 3.
So, get ready for a ride like no other, a work in progress that will share some fascinating characters and their secrets and tales.
Running for two nights only on August 10 and 11 at 7pm. Leaving from the bus stop opposite Kieran’s College on the College Road.
