Keep Her Lit Festival has something for everyone - Kilkenny Live

Just under a month to go to Kilkenny’s Keep Her Lit Festival in beautiful Inistioge which boasts an incredible lineup of live music and much more.

The three-day festival has a jam-packed music bill with headline concerts from Lisa Hannigan, The Breath, Kilkenny’s Sola and lots more from 18 to 20.

In addition, the festival brings an impressive programme of workshops, storytelling sessions and walks with truly something for everyone in store! 

From the beautiful commemorative Gomárach Walk along the River Nore on Saturday afternoon. The walk is for those who have lost loved ones over the last few years. Led by Kilkenny-based forest school practitioner Maura Brennan and festival organiser and artist Kasia Kaminska, the walk will focus on healing wild plants and natural remedies, and culminate in creating a remembrance mandala in the Millennium Garden from foraged materials.

Young and old can enjoy a storytelling session with Seanchaí Jim Maher and musicians in O Donnell's Síbín in the heart of the village. There’s also fiddle, tin whistle & bodhrán music workshops with stellar traditional musicians from all corners of Ireland. The list goes on! 

Archivist John Kirwan and archeologist Ben Murtagh bring festival goers on a Heritage walk through the village,  highlighting medieval features of the area. 

The talented Eithne Ní Chatháin (Inni-K) hosts an interactive, fun workshop in sean-nós and traditional singing. No previous experience needed! 

Co. Clare born Sean Nós dancer Louise O’ Connor hosts the festival's first ever set dancing workshop and the inaugural Keep Her Lit Céilí - Ar Mhaith Leat Damhsa? Is not to be missed!
