Austin Allsup will play at Cleere's on March 14
Texas recording artist Austin Allsup is coming to Kilkenny as part of his European tour.
The renowned American singer/songwriter will play Cleere’s Theatre on Parliament Street on Thursday, March 14.
Allsup is no stranger to Kilkenny, having visited and performed here many times with the Texas Tornado Tour. However, this night promises to be different as it is part of his tour to promote his new album which was recorded at The Church Studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Austin made waves across America when he reached the finals of the American Voice competition televised to over six million people. Throughout the contest Austin stayed true to his music and style with his genuine authenticity carrying him through to the final stages.
With rugged vocals that can melt into smooth melodies, he grabs an audience’s soul and does not let go even after the last note fades away.
Austin has experienced life’s darker sides, yet transcends them in his songs. Along the way, he came up with a unique sound that encompasses the diverse styles of the musically fertile Southwest, but with a genius for intelligent lyrics and wry humour.
Not only has he released his own albums to critical acclaim, he has also written hits for massive Texas music artists such as Cody Jinks.
Travelling up and down Americas highways Austin has more than met quota for his share of self determination.
“I know it doesn’t come easy, but if the wheels on my van keep taking me up and down the road and I can make a living doing what I love, then there’s not too much wrong with that,” said Austin.
Special show
“I have fallen in love with Kilkenny over the years of visits with the Texas Tornado Tour and I’m looking forward to playing a special show in Cleere’s,” he said.
The Cleere’s show is a small listening room compared to the venues Austin usually plays in the USA. He sells out huge well known venues such as the famous Billy Bobs in Texas.
This will likely be the only time you get to see Austin play such an intimate show in Ireland and it promises to be a great one.
