Homeowner upstairs when four males attempt break-in to house near Kilkenny/Carlow border

Four male suspects attempted to break-in to a home at The Ridge, Old Leighlin on Tuesday 7th November between 5.40pm and 5.50pm. 

The homeowner was upstairs when they heard loud banging at front door and observed four males running towards the road and fleeing the scene in a silver coloured saloon car. 

The victim reported that all of the suspects were dressed in black with gloves and balaclavas. 

The front door of the house was damaged but no entry gained to the house and nothing was taken.

Gardaí in Bagenasltown are investigating the incident and are appealing for any information, by way of witnesses to any vehicle or persons acting in a suspicious manner around the The Ridge area between 5.30m – 6pm on Tuesday 7th November.

They are also encouraging anyone with CCTV/dashcam footage, etc. to contact Bagenalstown Garda Station on 059 9774120.
