Carlow whiskey distillery aims to lower hazards on site to protect people and environment

Royal Oak Distillery Ltd in Bagenalstown have submitted a planning application to Carlow County Council to achieve lower CoMAH tier status on their site. 

COMAH stands for the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations.

These regulations ensure that businesses take all necessary measures to prevent major accidents involving dangerous substances.

This application will be accompanied by EIA and screening information.

Royal Oak Distillery distils all three types of Irish whiskey (pot still, malt and grain) and is located just over the border in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow.
