Cross-border talks involving Kilkenny are held

A fine crowd from across the county boundaries attended the Lingaun Valley Tourism annual meeting in the Carraig Hotel. Also present was Christine Walshe from Kilkenny Leader Partnership and Janette Beck of Glasseye who is working on the lingaunvalley.ie augmented APP.

Following the annual and financial reports by Cathaoirleach Richie Walsh, Runaí Tony Musiol and Cisteoir Ade Walsh, Marmie Morrissey and Niall Walsh were elected as new directors with one position remaining vacant.

Highlights of the year’s activities included the teacher training course, Slievenamon Day now scheduled annually for July, Story Telling night, Table Quiz’s, Car Treasure Hunt, heritage week events, guided tours and Transition Year student visits. Also the production of a new promotional brochure and preliminary work on a 3D model of the Slatequarries and the hosting of the winter Solstice day events.
