Enzo's, a popular café and deli on Fountain Street in Ferrybank (on the Kilkenny-Waterford border), have made a 'difficult decision' to close their business.
"We have taken the difficult decision not to reopen Enzo’s," they said in a statement recently posted on social media.
"A combination of relentless planning objections, never-ending roadworks and the crisis in hospitality industry has made it not financially viable to continue in our current location.

"A massive thank you to all our customers and staff. We have not entirely given up on the idea of opening a sit down restaurant in number 54 Fountain Street but for now it's so long and thanks for the memories."

Responding to the statement, one user said: "What a loss to the area, we loved calling in for pizza. Best of luck for the future."
Another said: "So sorry to hear that you have closed, you will be missed by so many people. Such a shame."
Enzo's previously made a decision to close for temporary period in August of last year, citing ongoing roadworks in the area as a major disruption to business.
Local people on both sides of the Waterford-Kilkenny border will be hoping this is not the end, and that the owners' dream of opening a sit down restaurant will come to fruition in the future.
