Digital plans of the proposed development
Kilkenny County Council have announced their intention to develop five new residential units at 62 Barrack Street in Castlecomer.
As part of the council's proposal, the local authority intend to refurbish the former Dick Dooley's Butcher’s Shop site and convert it into one two-bedroom home and four one bedroom apartments.
The project will be completed in two phases over the coming months.
The first phase will begin later this year with the second leg dependent on Uisce Eireann completing new water connections in the North Kilkenny town.

Castlecomer has faced ongoing challenges with water quality in recent years with housing developments and local business suffering as a result.
Submissions can be made and clearly marked '62 Barrack Street, Castlecomer Part 8 Planning Submission' to the Planning Section, Kilkenny County Council, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny no later than 5pm on Monday, January, 26.
