ICYMI: Kilkenny businesses on alert after fake emails sent to local firms

Organisers behind a Kilkenny festival have issued a serious warning over a financial scam being carried out in their name.

Yulefest Kilkenny, an annual festival held in the city, shared the warning online last week.

“A number of false emails claiming to be Yulefest Kilkenny have circulated over the weekend targeting businesses and market traders about potential stands at our festival and requesting payment,” a spokesperson for Yulefest commented.

“Please do not engage! Only valid emails are from the email domain @YulefestKilkenny.ie.”
