An overall budget for roadworks in the Callan Thomastown district for this year has been finalised.
Local councillors have been told that €6,385,743 is the total of all budgets for the coming year, including improvements and maintenance.
Declan Murphy, Senior Engineer for the Callan Thomastown municipal district, detailed the budget plan.
The greatest area of works will be in restoration improvements, which will account for more than €3.1 million.
€892,938 has been budgeted for maintenance works and €753, 534 is allocated for ‘discretionary works’ including paths, drainage, pothole repairs, safety measures and winter maintenance.
A list of projects has been drawn up and agreed with councillors, based on a three year plan for the district.
