Stunning Kilkenny walled garden to host plant sale

Kilkenny Kilkenny

Westcourt Walled Garden

Spend some time in the surrounds of  one of Kilkenny’s historic walled gardens this weekend, and bring home some of the beautiful plants grown there for your own garden!

This weekend the annual, start-of-summer plant sale will take place in Westcourt Walled Garden in Callan, hosted by Living and Growing.

On sale will be a large selection of pollinator friendly, organically grown herbaceous garden plants. There will be perennials, some annuals and some vegetable plants for sale - beautiful, colourful blooms that will look good in any garden.

When you’ve chosen your plants, why not make the most of the sunny weather and relax in the walled garden with an afternoon treat! Coffee, tea and delicious cakes and buns will be on sale to raise funds in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Association and the Westcourt Community Growers. There will also be a fundraising raffle with some great prizes.

Westcourt Community Growers, which includes allotment holders in the garden as well as a community supported farming scheme, will be fundraising on the day for planning improvements and preservation works to the historic walls of the garden.

The plant sale takes place this Saturday and Sunday, May 27 and 28, from 11am to 4pm.

Westcourt Walled Garden can be found near the Edmund Rice Heritage Centre, at Eircode R95YK5Y, and will be signposted from the Callan bypass.
