Callan Friary
The transformation of the Callan Friary building into a community facility has moved on to the next phase of development.
Following extensive public consultation on the local community’s vision for the building, earlier this year, consultants have now been appointed to survey what developments would be suitable for the site.
Anne Marie Shortall, meeting administrator of Callan Thomastown Municipal District, told local councillors that Bluett and O’Donoghue architects will be tasked with seeing what will work in the friary building, and take the project to the next stage.
A design brief for the building will then be drawn up, she said.
