Host Patrick Kielty with Sophie and Uni
Just when we thought Kilkenny's Late Late Toy Show audience couldn't get any more excited.... one of the most heartwarming moments of the night involved a little girl whose mammy is a teacher in Callan.
Martina Griffin is a teacher in Coláiste Abhainn Rí in Callan. Her little girl Sophie, who is eight, told the Late Late Show that it was her one and only dream to take part. But that didn't work out this year because she is currently receiving treatment for leukaemia.
But there was a big suprise for Sophie, and all her family, when Toy Show host Patrick Kielty said: "Tonight’s the night when anything can happen and we know this evening that she’s actually at a Toy Show viewing party in Dublin with her family and some friends. She has no idea what’s about to happen.”
What did happen was a camera crew surprised the family, bundled them on a bus straight to RTE and Sophie's dream came true - appearing on the Toy Show as a toy tester!

The surprises didn't end there, as Patrick Kielty revealed that Sophie and her family were being presented with a trip to Disneyland!
Mum Martina told the Kilkenny People that the family are still overwhelmed from the whole experience. "It was so incredible," she said.
Sophie is having part of her cancer care here in Kilkenny at St Luke's General Hospital.
