Good news for several communities in the Callan Thomastown area with new footpaths just completed and others planned for the near future.
At the recent meeting of the municipal district councillors Area Engineer Declan Murphy gave a comprehensive update on plans.
In the last few weeks footpaths have been completed on Mill Street in Thomastown and at the Fairgreen in Graignamanagh, as well as Collins Park and along the Clonmel Road in Callan.
Comprehensive path work at Millbanks in Rosbercon has also been completed. This pathway has also had ducting for lighting put in and the council’s plan is to return next year to install public lighting along this route.
A number of path projects have been delayed due to contractor availability, these include the path at the bridge in Stoneyford, which will start in January, and the Carrick Road in Kilmaganny.
