Callan First Responders
Callan Cardiac First responders team held a very successful Valentine's Hamper draw last weekend and in doing so raised €850. They had two lucky winners of the luxury Valentine's hampers.
They would like to thank everyone who supported on the day including Londis and Supervalu for their continued support. A big thank you to the Callan Community. It was a pleasure to meet people that we have assisted since CCFR went live in May 2022.
The Callan First responders have attended 87 emergency calls to date within a 5km radius of Callan. The money raised will be going towards another AED and life saving equipment for the First Responders when on emergency calls. The First responders organisation and what they do has been highlighted in national media in recent weeks and has helped to raise its
profile. It is totally a volunteer group.
Callan’s group has been well supported since it set up and have drawn many people to train up and become first responders. The Callan group are always looking for more people to step forward, the more volunteers they have the more
they can spread the burden of duties etc.
If you fancy joining make contact through the Callan Cardiac First Responders Facebook page, email, callanfirstresponders@gmail.com or call 086-1604273. Full training is provided and certified by the Pre-hospital care council.
They have a number of roles in the group, so if you don't want to go on live calls there may be another role there that might suit you better.
