The Barista Sistas in Callan have announced they will no longer open on Saturdays or Mondays due to ongoing works by Kilkenny County Council directly outside their premises.
Earlier this month the local cafe claimed the works were 'crucifying' the business adding, the council 'it would appear' has 'no concern' for small businesses.
The Co Kilkenny business has now made the 'very hard decision' to close two days a week, citing the damage the works are having on the business' footfall.
"It's just not sustainable any longer," the cafe commented, adding, "we are trying very hard to stay open, please support us where you can."
The cafe will now open from 8.30am to 3.30pm Tuesday to Friday.
