Kilkenny community on course for memorable Christmas

The Graignamanagh Lights Committee remain on track for the big switch-on on Saturday, December 7.

Last month Kilkenny Live reported that the group responsible for erecting the Christmas lights in Graignamanagh-Tinnahinch were calling for public support this Christmas with assistance needed to put the lights up and down and carry out repairs on lighting. 

The group also claimed they needed to raise €3,500 at least to add to committed support from Kilkenny and Carlow County Councils to cover the costs of everything.

A subsequent table quiz went well, raising just over €700 but support is still needed with repairs needed on some sections of the lights the fundraiser is being left open for now. Any additional monies unspent this year will remain in the account for next year’s lights installation.
