Mount Juliet Estate has been named the Best Resort in UK and Ireland in the prestigious Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence 2027, following a multi-million-euro restoration of the historic Manor House

Mount Juliet Estate has added another prestigious honour to its storied history of luxury hospitality.

The iconic Kilkenny estate has been named the Best Resort in UK and Ireland in the prestigious Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence 2027.

Commenting on the achievement, Mark Dunne, General Manager of Mount Juliet Estate, said: “We are delighted to be recognised by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler. This award means a great deal because it reflects the experiences of our guests. I was proud to accept it on behalf of the team, whose hard work and commitment make Mount Juliet Estate such a special place to stay.”

The recognition follows an extensive, multi-million-euro restoration of the historic Manor House. Specialist conservation and restoration teams repaired and restored the Georgian plasterwork, period cornicing and original fireplaces, bringing new life to the 18th-Century architecture while transforming the guest suites and public spaces.

It’s not the only award the famous Thomastown estate has won in recent months. Earlier this year, Mount Juliet Estate was recognised as one of Ireland's Best Workplaces in Hospitality 2026, a prestigious achievement that reflects the dedication, passion and commitment of its exceptional team.

Set within 500 acres of Kilkenny countryside along the banks of the River Nore, Mount Juliet Estate combines its rich heritage with luxury guest experiences. Accommodation spans two distinct five-star properties: the grand, 31-bedroom 18th-Century Manor House and the contemporary, 93-bedroom Hunter’s Yard Hotel.

The estate also features the Michelin-starred Lady Helen restaurant, an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, a Health and Wellness Centre, a state-of-the-art equestrian centre, and estate activities.

Meanwhile, in recent weeks, the Johnstown Collection, which comprises Mount Juliet Estate, The Johnstown Estate and Trim Castle Hotel, also announced a strategic high-performance partnership with Ireland rugby great Johnny Sexton.
