Some of the gifts at the Oxfam shop in Kilkenny

Still need to do some Christmas shopping but can’t make it to the Kilkenny shops in time? Just looking for an extra stocking filler that won’t break the budget? Think that you may have left it too late? Don’t worry, Oxfam Ireland is at your rescue!

Oxfam has a great range of last minute gifts in-store and online, including the Unwrapped range of alternative gift cards, that raise vital funds for the charity’s work overseas.

Why not send your loved ones lots of hogs and kisses this year with an Unwrapped gift card? New additions for 2018 are Two Little Pigs (€40), A Cow (€50), or The Road to an Education (€65). The cards can be sent last minute to loved ones in Ireland and across the world as beautiful printed or electronic cards starting at just €10 and support a wide range of life-changing projects for people affected by poverty or disaster.

Unwrapped cards are available to buy online via www.oxfamireland.org/unwrapped , over the phone by calling 1850 30 40 55 or at your local Kilkenny Oxfam shop, at 48 High Street (where they are also selling off many of their beautiful Christmas cards for half price). The deadline for ordering printed cards online or by phone is midday on Thursday 20 December.

And at your local Oxfam shop, there is also a wide range of quirky gifts that change lives for good. From ethically sourced crafts, to fab Fair Trade food, books, toys and winter wear, Oxfam’s life-saving and life-changing gifts are the something special you’ve been looking for.

These gifts are guaranteed to help beat poverty for good by raising vital funds for Oxfam’s work across the world – from development projects that change lives in Rwanda, Tanzania and beyond, to saving lives in places like Yemen where millions of people face hunger and disease.

There are brand new stocking fillers from €1.50 like chocolate coins, novelty socks (€3), and Matchbox Trivia Games and Puzzles for kids of all ages (€5).

The quality food treats in-store are Fair Trade, and new offerings include the Double Chocolate and Raspberry Shortbread (€5), Beer Bread (choose from Chilli & Garlic or Olive & Rosemary, both €6) or the Trio Sauce Set (Peri Peri chili sauce, Baobab spicy relish and Safari BBQ – €15) – or how about some Belgian Pralines (€10)?

Among the quirky new additions to Oxfam’s gift range are the Recycled Tyre Picture Frame (€10), a ‘nosey’ spectacles holder (€10), 2019 Family Organisers (€10) and Hand-made Embroidered items such as a Purse (€6), Pouch (€9), or Paisley Washbag (€9).

Whatever you buy from Oxfam’s Christmas range, you’ll be supporting their work worldwide, helping to change lives for good through their long-term development work, emergency response and campaigning to tackle the root causes of poverty and injustice.
