Gardaí are investigating an attempted burglary at a house in Kilkenny City.
The incident took place at a property in Hawthorn Walk Walk between 2.30 and 2.50pm in Parc na Gowan on Thursday last.
The occupant heard the doorbell ring followed by a series of knocks on the door as he approached the door he saw the lock on the door being popped. He opened the door to find a man outside claiming he was looking for someone. The suspect then left the scene quickly.
Anyone who was in the area and noticed any suspicious persons or anyone with further information is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on (056) 777 5000.
