Kilkenny man accused of offences remanded in custody

A man accused of numerous offences was remanded in custody to appear before Kilkenny District Court later this month.

Stephen Kelly, 21 Church Avenue, Castlecomer is accused of theft and the unauthorised taking of a MPV at the IMC Cinema carpark on Barrack Street in Kilkenny on June 2. He is also accused of theft at the Circle K on the Castlecomer Road in Kilkenny on April 21 and of theft and the unauthorised taking of a MPV and theft at Wolfe Tone Street in Kilkenny City on April 21.

The defendant is also accused of theft at the Gala Store in Clonroche in Enniscorthy in Co Wexford on April 22, 2024.

The matters before the court were adjourned for DPP’s directions.

Judge Geraldine Carthy remanded the defendant in custody to appear before Kilkenny District Court on July 25.
